Interested In St. Augustine School?

St. Augustine School serves the children of the parish but the diverse enrollment includes Catholics and students of other faiths from Napoleon, Liberty Center, McClure, Florida, Holgate, Wauseon, Archbold, Hamler, and Defiance.

Students are offered a varied curriculum in pre-school through 8th grade with limited class size. Our students' discipline and leadership skills are known in the community, and they continue to exhibit these qualities as they continue on through high school and college. St. Augustine students continue to excel academically as they continue their education, with a good percentage earning honors.

St. Augustine School is in a unique position as it is the only Catholic school in Henry County.
Our well-maintained facility offers a safe place for our children to learn and play. We offer nutritionally sound hot lunches.
An extended day program is in place. Parents may drop children at school as early as 7:00 a.m. and/or pick them up as late as 6:00 p.m.  Children are cared for by a licensed teacher.
We are very proud of our music program of vocal and instrumental instruction, having a very high percentage of our students involved in band. We have two musical productions each school year.

There is never a lack of opportunity to participate in activities at St. Augustine School.

  • The school's Student Council involves students in grades K to 8 with officers from the 7th and 8th grades providing leadership.
  • Students have opportunities to participate in interscholastic sports competitions in football, track, volleyball, and basketball. These are organized through the St. Augustine Athletic Club.
  • Because we believe that students learn better when they experience and do things, field trips to the Toledo Zoo, the Toledo Art Museum, theater, and more are regularly scheduled. A bi-annual trip to Washington D.C. for the upper classes also takes place.
  • Students take part in spelling and writing competitions, and an annual academic fair is held.
  • Service at St. Augustine is ongoing. Students take part in the St. Jude's Math-a-thon, Jump Rope for the Heart, Cancer Society's Mini-Relay for Life, and visits to the Senior Center and area Nursing homes to provide entertainment.
